Ac installation involves a series of steps that is divided into three parts. Installation of the indoor unit is the first step which has other sub steps to it. Selection of an unobstructed location of the interior wall to mount the indoor ac unit involves some dos and don’ts.
Some of them are avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources, installing the unit at least one meter away from the antenna, connecting lines, power, radio, television, telephones etcetera, the wall should be strong enough to hold the weight of the unit and avoiding locations where oil mist exists or gas may leak.
A series of steps is accompanied by securing the mounting plate to the interior wall. They include holding the mounting plate against the wall, using a level to make sure the plate is horizontally level, drilling holes into the wall at appropriate spots to affix the plate to the wall and finally inserting plastic anchors into the holes. A three sub step procedure is involved in creation of a hole in the wall to fit the piping. Finding the best spot for the hole to the exterior based on the opening in the mounting bracket, drilling a hole that has a diameter of about eight centimeters through the wall in which the slope should be downward toward the exterior and finally inserting a flexible flange into the hole are the procedures of creating a hole in the wall for piping.
Checking of the electrical connections involves lifting the unit’s front panel, removing the cover and being sure the cable wires are connected to the screw terminals. Steps involving connection of pipes follows suit. Running the piping from the indoor unit toward the hole drilled through the wall, cutting a length of PVC pipe shorter than the length between the exterior and interior surfaces of the wall, placing the pipe cap on the interior end of the PVC pipe, binding the copper pipes the power cables and drain pipes together using an electrical tape, securing the pipe to the indoor unit, joining the water drainage to the indoor unit’s base and running the bound pipes and cables through the hole in the wall is the procedure involved in connection of pipes.
The final step to the first part of AC installation which is installation of the indoor unit is securing the indoor unit to the mounting plate by pressing the unit against the mounting plate. The next part in the installation of an AC unit is installation of the outdoor condenser. Installation of the outdoor unit also involves choosing the best place to the outdoor unit. The next sub step is laying and leveling the ground using a concrete pad. The height of the concrete pad is needed to be high enough.
